Roam is in Love

Roam Rides is in love and we dont care who knows it!!! There are certain businesses, organizations, and restaurants that Roam crushes on in Miami and we would like to take a minute to recognize them for their outstanding work and offerings and try to convince you to love them too. We have good relationships with most of the people mentioned on this list, but in some cases we just love them from afar. If anyone comes across this and wants to set us up, we are always looking to take to the next level. Enjoy!

The Betsy Hotel: This boutique hotel not only is located on Ocean Drive, the most photographed strip in Miami, but it has an incredible restaurant BLT Steak inside, as well as some of our personal favorite decor in South Beach.  It has a Key West color palette, mixed with rocker photography, and safari style accents, its more comfortable and inviting than some of the other “hot spots” in Miami. Further, this hotel has a truly incredible philanthropy program. Every month they open their doors and provide signature cocktails and appetizers to charities and organizations to help them fundraise.  The rooms run around $500 per night during the high season, but call in for rates in advance they also happen to be incredibly accommodating.

Sweat Records: Sweat Records is owned by the same woman as The Vagabond, which are both A+ establishments. Sweat Records is just a bad ass record store located next to Churchills, another cool music venue, in Little Haiti. Vagabond has live music, outdoor tiki area, and indoor bar, with all the hipsters you love to hate and occasionally a bunch of dorks from Kendall or Miramar. (ex-boyfriend’s boys all from there and I love to hate) There really are not many legit record stores in Miami or Metro Miami, so do yourself  and Miami a favor and be a patron if you are in town.

Morgan’s Restaurant: We have to be explicit about this, go to the Morgan’s in Midtown, not the one in South Beach. The proprietor is the same, but one crucial difference is the management. Shaun makes the worlds best white sangria and he is the manager at the midtown location. For some reason its just better there. Morgans is not a new concept in food, modern american, but thats just fine, cause what they are doin, they are doin it well. Crab Cob salad is really really good. They bake a dozen cookies there fresh for you, its hardly noticeable on the menu, but they are truly fantastic. Ask for Shaun to make you some sangria, and get a driver home. Is it wrong to think about having a 15 yr old with a learners permit be a DD? Cause, I have some ideas for Roam’s resident teenager Phoebe.

That’s who we crush on, and now the whole world knows. A few things on our wishlist, arising from a weekend bender- vietnamese food in Miami Beach, the current one is just not good and the closest, Little Saigon, is 30 min away, 2. figuring out the perfect cocktail when sailing- they are all so heavy and a word to the wise- red bull vodka is a terrible idea cause you are all hyped up and no where to go except maybe jump off starboard. If anyone has suggestions please let us know!! Also, post away about your Miami and general wishes, no one is scared of addressing philosophical queries here, cause we go there.
